Monica Swanson on Simple ways to Raise Children Rich in Character

Character is a central part of who you are. Character fundamentally shapes how you engage the world, what you notice, what you reinforce, who you connect with, and what you choose to act on. As we build our best family it is essential to raise children of good character.

In this episode you will hear:

  • How to figure out which noble character traits to cultivate in our kids

  • The influence role models have on your kids

  • How to find good role models

  • How to help our kids make better choices.

Key Points:

  • We are not born with good character, we need to grow and culture it.

  • Look for opportunities to correct and encourage using character words.

  • Focusing on too many character traits at once can be overwhelming. Start with just a few that are needed in each season.

  • Be intentional about the influences in your kids' lives by choosing who and what they are surrounded by.
