How Giving Feedback will Strengthen Your Family

As a family we do a 360 peer review, just like the ones in an organization, to build our family’s culture. We’ve found that giving and receiving feedback in this way has had an incredible impact on our family. This process isn’t always easy. However, the ability to do this does not come naturally to us. But the good news is that this is something that can be learned and practiced.

We are back part 2 of Giving and Receiving feedback. Last week we talked to you about receiving feedback and this week we want to discuss giving feedback.

In this episode you will hear:

  • What giving and receiving feedback will do for a family

  • The benefits of giving feedback well

  • The difference between feedback and criticism

  • 5 ways you can give feedback that with help others grow

Key Points:

  • When we give feedback in a loving way, rather than criticism, other people will be more likely to hear us out and take into consideration what we have to say.

  • As a leader in your home, you set the atmospheric of feedback. When you give feedback well you spouse and your kids will begin to do it too.
